A Left Instead...
It was a relatively nice day here in New York City. So I
figure I'd start my day a little bit earlier by going the long
way to the subway. Instead of the right turn as soon as I leave
the building, like I've been doing for the past 4 years, I
decided to take a left turn. I have to admit, just by going in
the opposite direction gave me a sense of freedom.
And so, with this liberating feeling, it seemed like everything
was new to me. I noticed children playing across the street. I
realized that there weren't as many cars passing on the road. I
was even saying, "Hello" or "Good morning" or "Nice day, huh?" to
the people I passed by.
And then, I saw a new bakery and they sold my favorite of all
things to eat, chocolate chip cookies! I bought 2 cookies and
enjoyed them as I finished my journey to the A train.
This story isn’t just about the children or the lack of cars or
even the cookies.
It’s about that feeling I felt while noticing those things. It
was just by simply deciding and taking that left turn.
Y'NEVANO unless you try.
