Why?...

By Wali
Why do you eat those foods? Why do you hang out with those friends? Why do you wear those clothes? Why do you...?
Have you ever asked yourself why you do the things you do? Most of the time we do things because we were taught or told to do them. You probably don't even like doing some of those things but you do them anyway out of habit.
I dare you to challenge yourself by asking, "Why do I do the things I do?"

Y'NEVANO. You could be missing out on a whole new way of doing things.

Anti vs. Pro

By Wali

Ok. This is a tricky one.
I believe that achieving a goal is all in how you view it. If you don't like being broke all the time. Don't be Anti-"poor" be Pro-"rich". If you're depressed, try to be Pro-"happy" not Anti-"sad". Looking for that special someone? Anti-"single" is not going to work. You have to be Pro-"relationship". Teach your children Pro-"smart" is better than Anti-"dumb". Don't get a long with a family member? Anti-"argue"? No. Pro-"getting along"? Yes. Never Anti-"fat". Go for Pro-"healthy".

It's about being in the affirmative frame of mind. Being Anti-"anything" keeps you thinking about where you don't want to be. Being Pro-"something" is keeping your thoughts in that place where you want to be.
And lastly, don't be Anti-"staying in my mundane life" be Pro-"change my life for the better".

If Not For You...

By Wali
Where would we be if Beethoven said, "I have these songs in my head but I don't think people want to hear them"? Or if Louis Pasteur said, "Why doesn't someone do something about milk tasting so odd?" Or Lucille ball said, "I can't do comedy." Or how about if Nelson Mandella said, "Apartheid is wrong but it's not my place to speak out."
But those people did not say those things. They shared their passion and made the world a little nicer of a place to live.
The world needs to experience your passion. It's your responsibility to share what you've got. It doesn't matter how small you think it may be. If it's your passion, it will in some way help. No more of letting someone else try to do what you're great at.
So you say, "How can what I'm passionate about help the world?"
All I have for you is one word...

That Certain Person...

By Wali
There's that certain person. You see them everyday. You don't know his or her name. You don't know his or her background. You really don't know the specifics about them at all. But for some reason he or she has your attention. It might be the way they dress or the way they speak or the confidence they may have by the way he or she carries his or herself. And they have no idea that you've noticed them. As time goes on, you start to wonder the kind of life he or she has. Are they rich or poor? What's their family history? What are their values? Then you realize that you've taken time out of your life to think about someone you don't know. It's pretty powerful how someone you don't know can affect you.

Here's a thought. You could be that certain person to someone.

So be the best you you can be.

Y'NEVANO who you're impressing.

2 Words...

By Wali
Many people don't go for their dreams because of the discouraging words, What if.
"What if it's a waste of time?" "What if people laugh at me?" "What if I fail?"
They are using "What if" the wrong way. Those 2 words should be part of a sentence of encouragement. "What if the opportunity comes along and I'm not ready?" "What if I succeed and I get called for more?" " What if everything goes exactly as I planned?"

Use What if as your motivator to get you closer to your goal.

What if after you read this blog you go for your dream.

Celebrate Good Times...

By Wali
Why do we wait for something "big" to happen in order to celebrate?
If you keep that up, you're going to miss out on great opportunities to celebrate. Celebrate that you're alive. Celebrate the fact that it's just an ordinary day. Celebrate your enemies. Celebrate celebrating. And when I mean celebrate, really do it up. I'm talking black tie, gown, champagne, music, friends and family.
Celebrating is fun and so necessary to keep our lives exciting.

Y'NEVANO how much you appreciate things in life until you celebrate them.

Vacate...

By Wali
No matter what it is and how much you love it, you must take yourself away from it. Too much of a great thing will turn into not so great of a thing. It is important to take your mind and body completely away form it.
This sabbatical should only be for a short while however. And when you come back from that time off, you are going discover all over again why you love doing what you love doing. That refreshened passion for what you love will drive you to newer levels.

And that's what it's all about, finding new ways to love what you love.

Y'NEVANO what a difference a day makes.

Beginner's Luck? No Such Thing...

By Wali
Ever notice how people win at gambling  or a sport they try for the first time. Some will call that "Beginner's Luck". I love it when the people who've been at it for years get so furious. They say things like, "She has no idea what she's doing and yet she won!!"
There's no such thing "Beginner's Luck". The reason why those people win is because they are so focused on the end result, WINNING. Nothing else. That is the purest form of focus anyone can ask for.
Experienced people use strategy to win games. Actually, they're telling themselves they might lose. The focus on the end result is not at its purest anymore. They think about things that could make them not win.
There is a big difference in focusing on not losing the game and focusing on winning the game.

Now go to Las Vegas.

Unfinished Work...

By Wali
When was the last time you started a personal project and finished it?
Personal projects are tasks that affect you personally, such as doing away with clothes you don't wear anymore, organizing your important home documents, getting rid of your kids old toys, learn how to work that universal remote control, fix that door, insulate around the windows, paint that room, write the letter and send it or cleaning out that old junk drawer.
I'm sure you have reasons why you're not finishing those projects. But you not finishing says a lot more about you than those things not getting done.
Maybe that's why you haven't reached those other goals or dreams you've set out to reach. It's because you've lost your focus.
Actually finishing one of those mundane projects can be a great way to practice your focus. And it's a great feeling knowing that you can finish what you've set out to do.

Download the Y'NEVANO® 7 Day Action Plan to help keep you on track.

The clearer your focus the quicker to the goal.

Power Of A Penny...

By Wali
I sometimes see people actually throw their pennies on the ground. As if those pennies were trash. Which is very sad. When I see money on the ground, I pick it up. And yes, even pennies. A penny is currency. It has value.
I look at pennies as a human being. One person may not be able to do much but, if you put a lot more together, they can make a difference. Strength in numbers. Same thing with pennies. Put enough together and you'll have a nickel or a dime or even a quarter.
I mean think about it. Think of all the pennies you've passed by or waved off as change from your purchases. Who knows how much money you could've had.

A penny is important.
