by David 3 months agoThe 3-14 Knicks vs. the 14-3 Phoenix Suns seemed like a no-brainer. But the Knicks came out like gangbusters and scored 100...in three quarters!!! The Knicks (one of the NBA's worst) went on to rout the Suns (one of the NBA's best) 126-99 and became the first team to hold the Suns under 100 points. Just goes to show you that on any given night...Y'nevano. Last night seemed more like a one-night thing than a sign that the Knicks have turned things around, but hey, Y'nevano.

Y’nevano – well, we probably know…but Y’nevano - the Knicks have reached a point where the fans will accept pretty much any answer, let alone THE Answer. The last time the Knicks were relevant, they employed Grandma-ma (Larry Johnson). Now the starting five looks more like a bunch of actual Grandma-mas. Can the four-time scoring champ help the Knicks turn it around? Y’nevano. NY hoops fans have gotten so low that this is the guy we’re salivating over:
(Courtesy of today’s NY Post)
Aug. 1997: Arrested on drug and gun possession charges
Oct. 2000: Reprimanded by the commissioner for his rap album featuring derogatory lyrics towards women and gays
May 2002: Snaps at reporters who question his penchant for skipping practice
July 2002: Arrested for domestic abuse and accused of threatening two men with a gun
April 2009: Fakes back injury and misses the rest of the season in Detroit because he refuses to come off the bench and only wants to start
Nov 2009: Leaves the Memphis Grizzlies after only three games after complaining about his role.
And you know what? I am willing to forget all that because in sports, just as in life, Y’nevano. I’ve never met the guy so I am willing to give him a chance to show me who he is. Is he a changed man? Y’nevano – maybe it took him three games in Memphis to reevaluate his life. There is no doubt he is a fierce competitor. So can his warrior attitude rub off on the soft Knicks? Y’nevano. Even at his best, can Iverson take the Knicks back to the playoffs? Seems unlikely…but Y’nevano.
I am actually looking forward to the idea of bringing in a guy that will at least let the fans know that the team has a pulse. It could be great – it could blow up in our faces...Y’nevano….
What do you guys think?
